It opened in October its Experienced Commercial Leadership Development program – the main route by which MBA students enter its different business areas – and has a raft of remaining openings.
These include positions in its aviation, healthcare and energy management businesses and they are across global locations including the UK and southeast Asia.
The ECLP is designed to strengthen candidates’ commercial, business and leadership skills, by requiring them to complete an intensive curriculum that consists of seven weeks’ classroom training, as well as global symposiums.
It is global in scope, with candidates from North America, Latin America, EMEA, China, Japan and India, among other locations.
The ECLP also exposes professionals to different segments within multiple GE businesses, and candidates may be required to relocate two or three times while in program.
To apply, applicants need five to eight years’ sales or marketing experience, along with strong analytics skills aligned with a GE business segment, and they must also be able to demonstrate achievement and leadership.
Opportunities remain open within GE Aviation in Singapore, China, Dubai and the UK, and within GE Transportation in Chile and across Africa.
GE Healthcare has spots in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia, as well as in China, Saudi Arabia and India.
For its Energy Management and Power & Water units, GE has opportunities across the Middle East and in Angola, Mozambique, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.
In an interview with BusinessBecause last year, Ferdinando Beccalli-Falco, GE’s chief executive for Europe, said that he values MBA graduates because they have a certain amount of work experience.
He said: “We had a commercial manager meeting last [month] and four of the chief marketing officers of the many businesses we have in Europe are former ECLPs. It is a good path and we should continue to encourage this way of developing talent.”
Upon successful completion of the program, ECLPs will be considered for key commercial roles in GE.
