When contemplating an MBA journey in India, there are many options available to you. Although the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) often take the spotlight, numerous private institutions offer exceptional education and career prospects.
One such eminent institution is the Management Development Institute (MDI) in Gurgaon.
Established in 1973, MDI Gurgaon holds the 10th position in the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) Management Ranking 2024, rising three places since 2023.
It is the second-highest-ranked private business school on the list, after XLRI Jamshedpur.
MDI Gurgaon has also received international recognition for the quality of its graduate business programs, and is accredited by AACSB and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
Here’s why you should consider MDI Gurgaon for your MBA, and how you can put together a stellar application.
The MBA at MDI Gurgaon
The most popular program at MDI Gurgaon is the school’s Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM).
This two-year, full-time program is sanctioned by the All India Council for Technical Education and acknowledged by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). This means it is on par with an MBA degree from an Indian or overseas university.
In addition to the main PGDM program, the school also offers PGDM programs with specializations in HR management, international business, and business analytics. Additionally, MDI Gurgaon offers an online version of the PGDM program, which, although it takes place mostly virtually, includes three campus immersions during the two years.
Across all PGDM program types, MDI Gurgaon has achieved gender parity, with 52% female students in the 2022-2024 cohort. The most popular background industry for students is the IT industry, though manufacturing and consulting are also well-represented in the cohort.
