MBAs from LBS, AGSM, IE, Lancaster, Durham and Cass joined us to share their perspectives on business school, with fascinating backgrounds including the US military and UN peacekeeping.
Amongst the potential MBA applicants were a throng of Oxford graduates, all several years into impressive careers in banking, marketing, medicine and the civil service and all weighing up options for an MBA. Some were debating the benefits of a part-time MBA so as not to give up their jobs and some were considering a move to the US to elite schools such as HBS and Stanford. All had specific questions about how to approach the GMAT and how to secure good reference letters, alongside 'bigger-picture' queries about the long-term value of an MBA.
One of the more unusual characters was a retired Chinese dotcom entrepreneur who sold his website to a Korean corporate 10 years ago and is now considering doing an MBA at the age of 52.
