Nitin Misra spent ten years working for some of the world's biggest IT's largest firms before deciding that an MBA would help him to provide answers to some of the challenges tech companies face in integrating business, technology and design.

Nitin, who worked in product and project management and consulting roles for HCL Technologies, Accenture, and Oracle Corporation feels that convenience and accessibility of technology products, and continuous innovation to keep consumers happy are the major challenges for IT companies.

“Businesses are challenged by having to innovate and how to differentiate their products”, says Nitin who was fascinated by computers as a kid and gained his Bachelors in Computer Science from North Maharashtra University.

He sees the rampant growth of social media and mobile devices as significant. “People are spending more time on the virtual world so companies can’t neglect that. By 2015, there will be approximately three billion mobile devices in comparison to 500 million PCs. The big question for organizations is whether this will be a mainstream focus for them or a side-thing”, says Nitin.

With an impressive GMAT score of 720, the 33-year-old Indian national who has also done all the Six Flags roller coasters in the US, made soba noodles from scratch in a Japanese village, climbed Mount Fuji and lived in Newport Beach California picked St. Gallen to nurture his passion for business technology and design there.

Nitin wanted a school which had a one year programme in one of Europe's thriving economies. Switzerland and Germany appealed to him therefore St. Gallen’s location was just perfect. He has also been able to attend courses to learn about design strategies and identifying consumer needs; and the product prototype testing and modification offered at St. Gallen’s Design school which has ties to the Stanford University Design School.

He’s already taken courses in Finance, Marketing, Strategy and International Management and has now mastered surviving on very little sleep. He’s now waiting to be assigned to an MBA project and is very excited about the possibility of working at a top tech firm in Europe. We'll update you on Nitin's progress soon!
