One month in the program and the value addition is indeed percolating beneath the surface. The unique attribute of reflective learning applied in a dynamic environment is what sets Lancasters University Management School (LUMS) apart. Every MBA empowers you with a certain set of tools, but not every course helps you appraise your inherent tools and in the process chisel them to perfection. That’s the edge that Lancaster provides, after all the work is not in the hammer but in the hammering. A holistic Induction program that sets one up for the rigors of the trade has been methodically designed to enable students with reflective and reflexive skills in management. A unique mix of 24 different nationalities is a unique opportunity for me to build a potentially world class network and some lasting friendships. Not to forget the Greek joke that often does the rounds within the MBA cohort!
An action learning environment in the classroom backed up by world class guest speakers makes the experience a truly invigorating one. Just recently we had Gil Steyaert, Managing Director Adidas (UK) sharing his corporate experiences with the MBA class.
Settling in is not a phrase coined for one year programs. It’s about adapting from the word go, and that too on a multitude of spectrums.
The New Venture Challenge (NVC) marks the beginning of the three consultancy projects that we do over the course. For individuals with an entrepreneurial streak, Christmas has just come early this year as they kick started the NVC this week.
An MBA program enables you with quality juggling skill; the key lies in not dropping too many balls at the same time to start with. Taking the MBA plunge for me has been the righteous step and Lancaster has indeed exceeded my expectations.
