Where’s the best place to grow your career after you leave business school? It’s a good question. And, happily for those looking for opportunities in India, LinkedIn has the answer.

Large multinationals and innovative startups hire from the cohorts of top Indian business schools each year. To compile its 2024 list of the top Indian companies to work for, LinkedIn analyzed the performance of the largest companies in India. It compared firms with 5,000 or more employees globally and at least 500 staff in India.

LinkedIn used eight pillars known to drive career progression to formulate its rankings, analyzing data to understand areas such as: how inclusive workplaces are, whether companies prioritized hiring diverse talent, and the employee experience of company culture. 

MBA and business master's students hoping to land a job at one of the best companies should know that several names on the list have recently announced plans for growth. 

So, here are the 25 best companies to work for in India in 2024, according to LinkedIn. 


Top companies in India to work for


25. Viatris

Global pharmaceutical company Viatris manufactures generic drugs for infectious and non-communicable diseases.

Operating in 165 countries and territories, Vitaris has a 5,000-strong workforce in India alone. Operations and business development are the company's most prominent recruitment functions. 


24. Novo Nordisk

Another pharmaceutical manufacturing company, Novo Nordisk offers roles for ambitious grads who want to tackle the world's health problems.

Headquartered in Denmark, the company works in sectors like diabetes and has over 1,300 employees in India. With headquarters in Bengaluru, most opportunities with Novo Nordisk are in research, sales and information technology.


23. Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs is a global investment banking and investment management company. It provides financial services like asset management, private wealth management, and transaction banking.

Business development, finance, and engineering are top areas for recruitment. Typical roles include financial analyst and software engineer.


22. Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo is another employer of interest to MBA and Master in Finance graduates in particular. The company provides community, wealth, wholesale, and investment banking services.

Opportunities primarily lie within engineering, finance and information technology. Typical job titles include financial analyst, finance and accounting associate or analytics consultant.


21. Fortive 

This American manufacturing company specializes in professional instrumentation and industrial technologies. Fortive products are used globally in healthcare, engineering, and transportation.

For management and business professionals, roles are mainly within engineering, sales, and information technology. Common recruitment positions to look out for include software engineer and sales manager.

French manufacturer Michelin is known for producing, distributing and...

Here, graduates might find themselves working in aerospace engineering or delivering operations.


19. ICICI Bank 

The Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) Bank Limited is probably best known for insurance. But ICICI also offers asset management, funds transfer, and digital banking. 

ICICI Lombard is just one of its companies and has 12,865 employees. ICICI typically recruits within sales, finance, and customer success. 


18. Intel Corporation 

Intel Corporation is a large American multinational employing around 124,800 staff worldwide. There are Intel offices in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. 

For b-school graduates looking for careers working with artificial intelligence, cloud, and autonomous driving products, the company offers roles in engineering, quality assurance, and information technology.


17. Mastercard

Mastercard is a global payment technology company with offices across continents. Pune is home to one of Mastercard's six global tech hubs. There are also offices in Mumbai and Gurugram.

Most recruitment is in engineering, information technology, and consulting. The company also has an 18-month Management Associate Program for MBA program graduates. 


16. Continental 

Continental, an automotive parts and technology company, has over 190,000 employees in 61 countries and 554 locations. The company is also responsible for the first patterned tire tread and the first driverless car in the world.

Business graduates can seek out roles at Continental like software engineer and technical architect.

15. Amazon 

Although dropping from its number two ranking last year, Amazon is a vast global employer. The tech hub of Hyderabad is Amazon's largest corporate office in India.

There are also Amazon offices in Bengaluru and Chennai. Like other huge global firms on this list, Amazon mostly hires in engineering, operations, and sales. 


14. Schneider Electric

European energy management company Schneider Electric has ambitious recruitment plans. BusinessLine reports the firm aims to add 6,500 employees in India by 2026.

MBA graduates might step in to engineering, operations, and information technology functions with the company. Popular roles include software engineer, sales manager, and general manager.


13. EY 

Ambitious grads searching for roles with one of the world's Big Four global accounting firms should know that 13th on the list, EY, has locations in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

Accounting, business development, and consulting are prime recruiting functions with popular job titles including tax analyst and software engineer. 


12. HCLTech 

Headquartered in India, HCLTech is a global technology services firm that regularly makes lists of the best places to work. It came seventh in the Forbes Best Employers 2023 list. 

The company employs over 224,700 people globally, with most opportunities in engineering, information technology and business development.


11. DP World 

Global logistics provider DP World has a broad portfolio of brands offering freight forwarding, contract logistics, market access, marine services, and ports and terminals.

Founded in Dubai in 1972, the company has more than 100,000 employees from over 150 nationalities. Openings in its workforce are mainly in operations, engineering and sales.

10. PepsiCo 

One of the largest consumer goods companies in the world with a workforce of 318,000, PepsiCo secured the top slot in LinkedIn's 2023 list of best consumer goods companies to work for.

PepsiCo has a Global Business Services Center in Hyderabad with plans for considerable growth. Business school graduates hoping to get ahead should explore sales, business development, and operations roles. 


9. JPMorgan Chase & Co 

Those looking to move into the financial services industry after business school could explore roles at JP Morgan Chase & Co. The firm strongly focuses on equality, diversity and inclusion, reporting that 49% of its global hires are women.

JP Morgan Chase & Co primarily hires within finance, engineering, and information technology.


8. Bristol Myers & Squibb 

Bristol Myers & Squibb specializes in developing and delivering advanced medicines for health issues. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to make its new R&D unit at Hyderabad the largest outside the US.

Research is one of the firm's largest functions for opportunities alongside information technology and engineering. 


7. Endress+HauserGroup 

Swiss-German Endress+Hauser Group provides measurement instrumentation services and solutions for industrial process engineering. It operates in sectors including oil and gas and food and beverage, with a worldwide headcount of 17,000.

Management and business professionals will find hiring opportunities at Endress+HauserGroup   in engineering, sales and operations. 


6. Deloitte

Another of the Big Four global accounting firms and the highest-ranking in this list, Deloitte was also recently rated highly as the sixth most attractive employer for MBA students in India.

MBA graduates can find work in consulting, business development, or accounting at Deloitte. There are opportunities to work with clients across industries, including technology, real estate, and life sciences.

5. Morgan Stanley 

Morgan Stanley is an investment bank and financial services company. Established in New York in 1835, the company has been in India for 30 years. The firm has offices worldwide, including five offices in India and more than 10,000 Indian employees.

For b-school grads, there are roles in functions like engineering, business development and information technology.


4. Macquarie Group 

Macquarie Group is an Australian headquartered financial services company that operates in 34 markets with over 21,000 employees.

It mainly offers hires opportunities within its business development, finance, and information technology functions.

3. Cognizant 

IT giant Cognizant has offices in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune. It also opened a new technology center in Odisha, Bhubaneswar earlier this year.

According to reports, the new center is expected to employ 5,000 associates over the next two years. The firm's largest opportunity areas are engineering, business development, and information technology. Popular titles for hiring include programming analyst and project manager. 


2. Accenture

Accenture is a global professional services company offering services in cloud, artificial intelligence, finance, emerging technology, and cybersecurity. It works across industries, including aerospace, banking, and health.

There are opportunities to work with emerging technology at Accenture. Operations and engineering are other strong hiring areas for ambitious MBA grads to explore.


1. Tata Consultancy Services

Tata Consultancy Services has maintained a hold on the top spot of this list in recent years. The firm is also the only Indian founded company to make the top five.

Tata provides global IT services, consulting, and business solutions. Business school grads can pursue roles in engineering and information technology. Common job titles include software engineer, consultant, and IT analyst.
