Despite continuing a freeze in starting salaries for MBA and master's grads in 2025, along with the other Big Three consulting firms, Bain continues to offer industry-leading compensation packages with plenty of scope for career progression.
Every year, Bain recruits MBA and master’s graduates from top US business schools including Harvard, Wharton, and Stanford, as well as schools outside the US such as INSEAD, HEC Paris, and London Business School.

Bain consultant salary and bonuses
Bain consultant salaries for MBA graduates are $192,000. For master’s-level hires at Bain, pay packets sit at $112,000 in base salary.
MBA hires at Bain also receive performance bonuses of up to $63,000 and a signing bonus of $30,000. Master’s graduates get performance bonuses of up to $22,500 and a signing bonus of $5,000.
That means the total average compensation for MBA graduates at Bain is $285,000—the highest of any Big Three firm. For those holding master’s degrees, total compensation stands at around $140,000. Again, that’s slightly higher than both McKinsey and BCG.
However, these numbers are just starting salaries. A promotion tends to coincide with a jump in salary too.
Two to three years after completing an MBA program, Bain consultants could earn in the region of $350,000 per year as managers, including bonuses.
A Bain associate principal salary sits at around $275,000 to $350,000, while Bain partner salaries start at $375,000 and could reach up to $700,000 for a senior partner. That doesn’t even include potential bonuses of over $500,000.
You’ll find similar consultant salaries across all of the Big Three consulting firms.

How can you get hired by Bain? Keith Bevans, executive vice president of global consultant recruitment at Bain & Company, says that to get hired by Bain, you need to be a problem-solver looking to make a big impact in your career. You should also be prepared to learn (and work) at a rapid pace.
