That's according to a new survey of the degree holders by Universum, the employer branding experts.
The search giant's bearish bets on everything from driverless cars to medical technology have given it wide appeal among Silicon Valley engineers. And increasingly, these "moonshot" projects are giving it a sense of impact, or purpose, that business students love.
And the trend is not confined to Google. Companies across the tech sector are showing growing appeal at business schools.
"The level and scale of impact that these companies can make for their customers can be attractive," says Emily Taylor, director of MBA career education at UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Behind Google are the three elite management consulting firms: McKinsey & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, plus Bain & Company.
The trio have long been popular employers on campus; MBAs value the pay, prestige and networks that come with a career in the consulting industry.
Regina Resnick, at Columbia Business School’s Career Management Center, said: “One cannot ignore the generous base salaries that strategic consulting firms offer, especially when a new grad is faced with a high debt load.”
