BusinessBecause
Talixo is an exciting young SME, borne from a b-school project that went on claim a slice of €50,000 from INSEAD's twice-yearly Venture Competition. If you have ever considered Why MBA, then these three business school graduates that are heading the company should inspire you to apply now.

The company's two MBA founders credit their time spent studying at INSEAD Business School, ranked #1 by Business Week, for the creation of Talixo, a booking platform for taxis and limousines that uses a smartphone App, website and traditional telephone calls to take people to-and-fro across Germany's capital.

We spoke to Yvonne Cooper, whom joined the company with the co-founders Sebastian Kleinau and Dominik Etzweiler after a career as Head of Strategic Intelligence at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in the UK. Talixo hope to expand and branch out into other cities across Germany. If you are interested in MBA Jobs in the transportation industry, then this is not one to miss!

What is the company size?

We currently have a team of eight operating at Talixo.

Which sector does it operate in?

We operate in the Travel and Transportation sector.

What does the business do and what are their core/flagship products?

We are the booking.com for the taxi, mini-cab and limousine industry. We have an Internet based platform that allows customers to book rides with our mini-cabs and limousines, whereby they save time, get a better quality of service, and get rewards as well.

Most taxi companies have one type of vehicle: private hire pre-booking or standard taxis. We're the only one that does both types of service, and soon will have an App that customers can use to book rides.

Who is the CEO/ founder?

Sebastian Kleinau and Dominik Etzweiler are the co-founders of the company.

How was the company founded?

Following development of the concept through our MBA programs at INSEAD Business School, and after winning incorporation funds at INSEAD's Venture Competition, the co-founders decided to leave their consultancy careers behind, come to Berlin, and start up the company.

Which regions are covered?

Currently we are operational in Berlin, and will be operational across Germany by end of 2014. We are looking at expansion right now and hope to be able to get fleets into other cities. The plan is to roll out across Germany and into the main cities.

Number of current MBAs at the company?

We currently have three MBAs, but will perhaps have more soon...

Who to contact if interested in working for them?

Yvonne Gruendler at jobs@talixo.de

Something interesting about the company in your own words...

We want to be able to give you choice without sacrificing quality. With Talixo, you get full transparency - you see what you get, and what you only pay for the level of service you select. A certain quality standard is guaranteed.

We not only want to improve things for the customer, but we also want to improve things for the fleets and the taxi drivers - with Talixo everyone's lives are simplified, and we all gain. It's the sustainable solution to person transport.
