Mikheil Janelidze is the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. He earned his undergraduate degree in International Law and International Relations from Tbilisi State University, and has worked in several managerial positions in both government and non-goverment organisations.
Mikheil, 31, decided to do the MBA because he wanted more responsibilities. A few months into his part-time MBA, he was appointed Director for the Department for Foreign Trade and International Economic Relations.
He moved to his current position in 2011 and has since been involved in key reforms to the Georgian economy, and the move was made possible because Mikheil had access to the Grenoble network.
Over the last few years, the government of Georgia has implemented economic reforms to make the business environment more attractive, stimulating foreign investment and entrepreneurial activities, as well as creating new jobs.
The Grenoble Ecole de Management is one of the first international business schools to have set up a campus in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, where it offers a 22-month part-time MBA. Classes take place on campus on weekends, and the programme ends with a management project that can be completed anywhere in the world. The next intake starts in October 2012.
Mikheil explains that the Grenoble part-time MBA programme was a perfect fit for his ambitions. He said, “The MBA has brought confidence in my abilities, enlarged my horizon of activities and network which was required to develop the successful career I am now enjoying”.
