The renewal part of the process of developing a dynamic strategy and activity program for the Alumni in London and nearby to enhance knowledge sharing, networking and business connectivity for its members.
The objective of the Alumni in London group is to facilitate greater communication between members for knowledge, business networking and for the purpose of identifying and exploiting new business relationships and opportunities.
At its most recent event two of the School’s MBA graduates Tony Fish and David Chan spoke on Identity and Privacy, and the on-going battle with the new world of social media.
Tony Fish, an entrepreneur, author and investor specialising in mobile and the web, is in the top 10 of The Observer and Guardian newspaper's 'Future 500 rising stars'. He explained how today’s reality is that you leave tiny digital traces of where you have been,
when and how often, using what device, and with whom, each and every time you interact with technology. Tony discussion on 'Identity, Privacy in the Digital Age' was particularly in respect to personal branding and Social Media.
David Chan, director of the Centre for Information Leadership at City University, London, focused his discussionon the future role of the Information Leader. David is an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) and former Head of Business Systems at the BBC.
He introduced a conceptual framework to help people to think about information in enterprises and spoke about how to reposition the role of the CIO.
The group is open to all postgraduate and undergraduate alumni of Bradford School of Management. This includes MBA, DBA, PhD, BA, BSc and Masters’ graduates. Activities and events of the London Alumni are open to all alumni members whether based in or close to London, or visiting. The group has its own website where it promotes information about its events and activities.
