An MBA degree can equip you with specialized skills in business management, finance, marketing, and strategy. While the application process has closed for most IIMs this year, several leading colleges continue to accept applications, providing avenues for aspiring MBA candidates to pursue their professional and personal growth.
Here are four great options for MBA in India in 2024. All still have places at time of publication.
1. Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi
Aspiring candidates can apply for the Jawaharlal Nehru University MBA 2024 until the end of February. To be eligible, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a government-recognized university. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification should comprise a minimum of three years of education post-completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
This year, the school is offering a total of 51 seats. The Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ABVSME) opened in 2019. Its selection process gives a 70% weighting to the CAT score, while 20% is given to the personal interview and 10% by the group discussion round.
The school says it endeavors to bridge the gap between management education and industry requirements. It frequently hosts workshops, lectures, and roundtable discussions, featuring corporate leaders, bureaucrats, policymakers, and entrepreneurs. Students actively participate in extracurricular activities to refine their managerial and entrepreneurial skills. Students from ABVSME also engage in business competitions with other MBA colleges.
JNU's proximity to industries in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) supports wide-ranging placement opportunities.
The application fee is Rs 2000/- for the General category/ EWS/ OBC and Rs 1000/- for SC/ ST/ PWD category.
2. NIT Calicut
The Department of Management Studies (DMS) at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut is accepting applications to its two-year full-time MBA program for 2024-26 until the end of March.
DMS offers a comprehensive MBA program with dual specializations, allowing students to choose any two majors from the five specializations offered in the second year. The options include Finance Management, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Marketing Management, and Business Analytics and Systems. This program provides students with a diverse skill set and prepares them for a variety of career opportunities in the dynamic field of management.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10) for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL and 55% marks (or CGPA 5.5/10) for SC/ST/PwD categories. Additionally, candidates need a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 score. CAT and a personal interview conducted by DMS determine admission.

3. Asian School of Business Kerala
Registration is underway at the Asian School of Business Kerala for PGDM 2024. You can apply online.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject with an aggregate of 50% marks. Those in their final year of study can apply and seek provisional admission. Candidates from Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible to apply if they have achieved minimum pass marks in the qualifying degree. SEBC candidates of Kerala State, certified as belonging to the non-creamy layer, qualify for a 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying degree.
Eligible candidates are required to complete the online application process and by paying the application fee of Rs. 1,000. Candidates must obtain a valid score in one of the management aptitude tests: KMAT of Kerala, C-MAT of AICTE or CAT of IIMs. Individuals intending to sit for any of these exams can also submit their applications.
The final merit list for Alliance School of Business MBA admissions 2024 will be prepared based on prior academics, KMAT, CMAT, CAT scores, and performance in group discussions and personal interview rounds.
To be eligible for ASB Kerala MBA 2024 candidates must secure at least 50% marks in any degree (excluding music/fine arts), with a minimum of 10% marks scored in KMAT/CMAT/CAT examinations.
4. SOIL Institute of Management, Gurgaon
Established in 2008, SOIL Institute of Management is renowned for its MBA/PGDM programs that equip students with essential skills and knowledge in Human Resources. With a curriculum tailored to meet industry demands, SOIL Institute offers Postgraduate Diploma in Management in Business Design & Innovation as well as the regular specializations in Marketing, Analytics, Human Resources and Finance.
