France’s ESCP Business School has announced the launch of a new MSc in Luxury Management. The program is hosted in luxury hotspots Italy and France and welcomes its first cohort in September 2024.

ESCP has designed the program to be a launchpad for those striving to start a career in the luxury sector at a time when it is navigating disruption to traditional business models.

The 15-month program will commence in Turin for one semester before students then travel to Paris. In the final semester, they will take part in a four-month internship that can be completed anywhere in the world.

What can you expect from the curriculum?

While the luxury industry is upheld by strong core values, the new ESCP program aims to prepare graduates who will be able to create new business models and strategies that align traditions with changing market trends, globalization, and shifting consumer needs.

“Companies across all levels of the luxury spectrum are actively seeking skilled professionals with a combination of robust managerial expertise, up-to-date industry knowledge, and a flair for innovative thinking to support their continued growth,” says Isabella Maggioni, associate professor for marketing and academic director of the MSc in Luxury Management program.

Before the program begins in-person, students will take part in online courses covering management and business fundamentals in Economics, Statistics, Accounting & Finance, and Marketing. Those with a minimum of three years’ work experience, or a bachelors degree the equivalent of 240 ECTS or more, will be exempt.

The curriculum is designed with the first two semesters exploring management in the context of the luxury industry, through courses such as Innovation and Production Management, Global Market Management, Art-Based Thinking, and Business Law.

All core courses will also address how to integrate sustainable practices into the luxury industry’s core business strategies.

In the third semester—based in Paris—students collaborate with a prestigious luxury company to address emerging business challenges.

Finally, the four-month international internship gives students a chance to apply their learnings and gain real-world experience to propel them into a full-time role.

For students starting in July 2024 for the introductory online courses, tuition fees are around $35,000. Students who meet the work experience or credit requirements will pay around $31,500.
