The program, which will begin receiving applications in October and welcome its first class in January 2025, is part of a collaboration between the Stern School of Business and NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD).
Students enrolled in the degree will spend the spring and fall terms learning in Abu Dhabi, as well as summer at the schools’ New York campus located in Greenwich Village. They will graduate with an accredited degree from both NYU Stern and NYU Abu Dhabi.
The 54-credit MBA curriculum will feature content and opportunities similar to those typically found in MBA programs offered in the US, including internships and projects with local companies. The shorter study-time ensures students will not be required to take too much time out of the workforce.
It will be led by Robert Salomon, former vice dean of executive programs at NYU Stern, who will become the first dean of Stern at NYUAD
Faculty at NYU Stern and NYUAD hope that the new program will help students launch top business careers within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Raghu Sundaram, dean of NYU Stern, said: “The introduction of this full-time MBA to the MENA region is groundbreaking for students who want to earn an MBA from one of the world’s leading business schools in just one year and build a career in a region that is seeing exponential growth.”
Currently, MBA programs in Abu Dhabi are offered by local business schools such as University of Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi School of Management. There are also local business schools offering MBA degrees elsewhere within the region in Bahrain, the UAE, and Egypt.
INSEAD, one of the top-ranked business schools globally, primarily offers executive level education at its Abu Dhabi campus.
“We have a wonderful opportunity to educate the next generation of leaders and enhance the talent pipeline in the UAE,” added dean Sundaram.
