HEC Paris welcomed the China Entrepreneur Club to campus last week after the group had an official meeting with French President François Hollande. The China Entrepreneur Club is made up of very prominent Chinese entrepreneurs that altogether produce the equivalent of 40 per cent of the Chinese private sector GDP (which is €250 billion total revenue).

The meeting of HEC Paris representatives and Chinese entrepreneurs signified not only shared leadership visions, but also the friendship and cooperation between France and China.

HEC Paris has always been quick to recognize the great opportunities of connecting with Chinese leaders and students though. This year HEC programmes, including the HEC MBA and Executive MBA programmes, enroll about 200 Chinese students.

HEC Paris has had a presence in China since it started recruiting students there in 1984. Over the past few decades, HEC has partnered with top Chinese universities such as Tsinghua School of Economics and Management, Fudan Management School, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Zhejiang School of Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Univesity of Business and Economics. With the partnership of these schools, faculty and student exchanges have been developed as well as double-degree programmes.

To further deepen the relationship between HEC Paris and China, HEC launched its Executive MBA programme in China in 2006. Now, the programme is offered in both Shanghai and Beijing.
The visit of the China Entrepreneur Club was a great way to reinforce the connections between HEC Paris and the important world of business in China.

“It was important for us to spend some time in such a prestigious institution as HEC Paris, which displays extended expertise on leadership,” Mr. Zhu Xinli, Executive Chairman of the China Entrepreneur Club said. “We have learnt a lot from one another about our complementary perspectives, cultures and experiences in business and management.”
